Bittersvveetheart

Vanessa, also known as Bittersvveetheart, is an Indonesian based artist specialing in traditional mediums, particularly graphite, gouache, and ink. Her work often depicts warped realities, exploring themes of young adulthood, mental health, femininity, love, and the bittersweetness of life.

During her pursuit of higher education in Australia, Vanessa began to fully explore and built a business around her art. Through sharing her art candidly on social media, her drawings have been exhibited in both independent zines and established galleries, mainly in Singapore and Melbourne.

Whilst drawing on paper, Vanessa simultaneously pursued the craft of tattooing, and is currently a resident artist at a cozy private studio in Jakarta.

A main philosophy that Vanessa carries as an artist is to never limit her self-expression.

Beyond her career, Vanessa tries to make time for self-care and embracing her hobbies, whether that is playing her guitar, video games, or simply just spending time with her friends and family.
