The Pierson Series

Project type

Sketches, Painting

Location

Jakarta

In this introspective series, Adnan Djadog presents Pierson, a symbolic figure navigating the complex terrain of mental clarity, personal growth, and existential solitude. Each piece chronicles a different psychological chapter—depicted not as linear progress, but as emotional truth.

Pierson and Madness

Acrylic on Canvas
This piece portrays the quiet surrender of a soul teetering on the edge of sanity. Pierson and Madness captures the moment when control is relinquished, and the chaos within is embraced—fully and without shame. Rather than resisting his fractured state, Pierson welcomes the madness with open arms, continuing to live with raw honesty and acceptance of his condition.

Pierson and the Master Teacher

Pencil on paper
In this turning point, Pierson encounters a guiding force—a figure who introduces him to the power of grounded thinking and conscious living. This teacher does not offer escape, but rather a path toward understanding and responsibility. In this phase, Pierson learns to question, reflect, and integrate his emotions rather than be ruled by them. He begins to reclaim control—not through denial, but through awareness and thoughtful action.

Pierson in Solitude

Pencil on paper
Here, Pierson confronts the depth of his own aloneness. Rather than seeking to fill the void with the presence of others, he chooses to sit with solitude and observe what it reveals. The painting reflects a profound shift: that true self-understanding arises not from distraction, but from honest engagement with isolation. Through this, Pierson begins to detach from worldly attachments and ego, reaching a deeper connection with himself.

Pierson and Pierson

Pencil on paper
In this final work, Pierson meets himself—not as he was, but as he has become. It is a moment of reflection and realization: that life is a continuous process of becoming, never static, always evolving. He understands now that emotions are fleeting, the past is real but not definitive, and growth demands constant learning. Pierson and Pierson is a dialogue with the self, a recognition of transformation, and a commitment to endless introspection.
